What size are the sites?

Generally, the outside sites are each 5m x12m and the inside sites are 3m x 3m.  Kele Pavilion does have some inside sites which are 3m x 4.5m.

However, each site category on the website includes a general description and size.

 Where is the Rocky Swap held?

The Swap takes place inside the Rockhampton Showgrounds which are located between Exhibition Road, New Exhibition Road & Lion Creek Road in Wandal QLD 4700. Please refer to the map provided.

When is the Rocky Swap held?

The Rocky Swap is an annual Swap, held on the first Saturday of August. The 2024 date is Saturday 3rd August 2024.

Where do the site holders enter?

The site holders enter through the gate located on Exhibition Road opposite the high school. It is labelled as ‘Swappers Gate’ on the map.

When can the site holders enter the showgrounds to prepare the sites?

Unless prior arrangements are made with the office of Rocky Swap, the site holders can only start coming into the Showgrounds from 8am on Friday.
Friday 8am – 11pm and Saturday 3am – 5.30am. Entry via Swappers Gate is closed between 11pm and 3am. Exit from venue is permitted during this time via the Exit Gate.

You must have your current site card with you and show this to the staff to enter the grounds.

When can the general public visit the Rocky Swap?

Gates open to the general public at 6am on the Saturday of the Swap.

How much does it cost to visit  the Rocky Swap? What is the entry fee?

The entry fee for Adults is $8- while children up to age 12 cost $2.

About Us

Established in 1997, the Rocky Swap is an annual event held on the first August of each year. Held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds and includes 1100 sites, food and drinks. Onsite camping for Swappers is available by prior arrangement.
